Certified Nurse-Midwife Responsibilities

Des Moines Midwife Collective (DMC) is seeking a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) to join our team. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee medical service activities and personnel

  • Providing safe, family-centered patient care for each nursing dyad

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate as needed to help parents achieve their nursing and pumping goals

  • Be fully collaborative with the client, client’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team

  • Demonstrate clinical expertise and knowledge in human lactation, nursing and pumping

  • Functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE)

  • Follows Standards of Practice as defined by their professional association, and adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines of care

Work Hours

Work hours consist of a three-midwife rotation of clinic, call, and time off. Clinic runs Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm, and our call services run 24/7 365 days/year.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited MSN-Nurse Midwife program

  • CABC Accreditation

  • Current RN/ARNP Licensure

  • Strong references
